IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using the appliance, follow basic safety precautions, including the following: Read all instructions before installation and use to prevent accidents and machine damage.
Electrical Safety
~ Before installation, make sure that
the voltage and frequency listed on the data plate correspond with the household electrical supply. This data must correspond to prevent injury and machine damage. [. . . ] Once the door is closed it is reactivated.
Deactivating the water filter
The ice cube maker in this appliance can be operated without the installed water filter, for example if the household water supply already uses a water filter. If you choose this option, it is important to insert a bypass cartridge. Only then can the performance of the appliance be ensured. To purchase a bypass cartridge, contact Miele.
After installing a new water filter discard the first 24 hours of ice production.

The concentration of the indicated substances in water entering the system was reduced to a concentration less than or equal to the permissible limit for water leaving the system, as specified in NSF/ANSI 42 and 53.

Alarm / Indicator warnings Issue The alarm is going off. Possible fault The appliance door(s) have been open for longer than 5 minutes. Solution Close the door.
The alarm is ringing and The door is not closed. the "alarm" indicator is A large amount of food is flashing. This is a warning that the water filter needs to be changed soon. The water filter needs to be changed.
Once the alarm condition has been corrected, the alarm will turn off and the "alarm" indicator will stop flashing.
Order replacement filters from Miele. See "Exchanging the water filter".
The filter display is flashing red.

Problems with the ice maker Issue The ice cube maker will not switch on. Possible fault The appliance is not plugged in. Solution Check that the appliance is connected to the power supply.
