The ENERGY STAR program is an energy reduction plan introduced by theUnited States Environmental Protection Agency in response to environmental issues and for the purpose of advancing the development and utilization of more energy efficient office equipment. The mark affixed to the product certifies that the product satisfies the basic quality requirements. The auto-shut-off time setting is between 15 and 120 minutes in the areas corresponding to the Swiss Energy 2000 Program area. [. . . ] The time for recovery from the energy saver function is about 30 seconds. * An auto energy saver function which actuates the energy saver function automatically, can be set to trigger after no copying has been done for a certain period (page 79, "7 AUTO PREHEAT TIME"). (25) Auto shut-off function This function automatically turns the main switch OFF(O) if no copying operation is performed for a certain period (15-240 minutes). To make copies again, turn the main switch ON ( | ). q Auto shut-off function The auto shut-off function is a power saving function which automatically turns OFF(O) the main switch when a certain time elapses without copying operation. Copiers are generally in the standby mode longer time than in copying operation, and power consumption in the standby mode occupies the large part of the consumption. Automatic turning OFF of the copier reduces unnecessary power consumption in the standby mode and at night where the copier is left on, resulting in reduction in power rate. * For the change of time until the auto shut off function, see the "8 AUTO SHUT-OFF TIME" on page 79, and to cancel the auto shut-off function, see the "0 AUTO SHUTOFF" on page 80. * If the auto shut-off function operates when the week timer (page 67) is set or an optional I/F kit is equipped, the machine will be in the rest state leaving the main switch ON ( | ). Press the energy saver key to perform copying. 48 APPLICABLE COPY MODES (1) Reserving another copy while copying is performed [Add Job] While copying is performed, another copying can be reserved. Also, the reserved jobs and the order of the copying can be changed. * When this copy mode is used, the optional memory copy board is required. q Introduction of the add job screen 1 Job number key: The serial number is assigned until 99 in the order of registration. Even when the order is altered and the job is cleared, no number is changed. Copying operation is carried out from the job displayed in the upper part. 4 The job reservation time is displayed. 5 Residual memory: The data volume of originals stored in memory is displayed. * The form overlay mode cannot be used in the add job function. 1 Add job 1. If the message "ADDITION OF JOB IS POSSIBLE. " is displayed, the job can be reserved. * To stop job reservation, touch the "END" or "BACK" key. 2. Referring to page 19 and subsequent pages, set the function to be reserved and press the Start key. The originals will be started to be read. After all the original has been read, the touch panel will return to the step 2 screen. Copying will begin in the order of reservation when the copying of previously reserved job is completed. 49 APPLICABLE COPY MODES 2 Changing the setting contents of the add job The setting of finishing for the reserved job (number of copies and sorter mode) can be changed.
