FUNCTION -- Taking black & white or sepia-toned pictures

Lets you add special effects to your pictures during shooting. BLACK&WHITE : Takes pictures in black and white. WHITE BOARD : Pictures are in black and white, with black letters on white backgrounds emphasized to make them easier to read. BLACK BOARD : Same as WHITE BOARD, but for white letters on black backgrounds. Reverses blacks and whites in the image.
In the top menu, select MODE MENU T CAMERA T FUNCTION T Select a mode, then press to complete the setting. Setting limitations and Default settings (Function shooting) The setting for the Function shooting differs depending on the shooting mode concerned as shown below. Mode dial (Mode menu) S-Prg P A/S/M/ Setting limitation OFF, BLACK&WHITE or SEPIA is available. Any of the 5 function-shooting modes are available. OFF Factory default setting
For the S-Prg mode, the change in one mode is forcibly applied to the other modes in the S-Prg mode. For the P and A/S/M modes, the change in one shooting mode is forcibly applied to other shooting modes as well. For mode, the setting can be changed separately from other shooting modes.

If letters do not show clearly with WHITE BOARD or BLACK BOARD T Use exposure compensation (P. 120).
When WHITE/BLACK BOARD are selected, the flash is automatically set to off (Flash override mode) (P. WB (white balance) and (white balance compensation) cannot be used in Function shooting.

Panorama shooting

You can take advantage of panorama shooting with Olympus CAMEDIAbrand SmartMedia cards. (Non-Olympus cards do not support this feature. ) Panorama shooting lets you connect images with overlapping edges into a single panoramic image, using the CAMEDIA Master software that comes with the camera.
