Plug-inPower External microphones which are supported by plug in power can also be used. Whether or not to supply power to external microphones can be configured. [On]: When the plug-in power function is activated, power will be supplied to the connected external microphone. Select this when external microphones supported by plug-in power are connected ( P. 35). Select this when external microphones not supported by plug-in power are connected. · Turn the plug-in power function to [Off] when an external microphone not supported by plug-in power is connected, as there is the risk that noise may be generated while recording. · Phantom power cannot be supplied, even when the plug in power function is set to [On]. Pre-Recording Pre-recording enables you to start recording up to 2 seconds* before you press the button for recording. This function allows you, for example, to start a recording bird's singing up to 2 seconds* before its start even if you press the recording button at the moment it starts singing. [On]: For recording sound continuously from up to 2 seconds* before the recording button is pressed. [Off]: For normal recording start.
How to enable pre-recording:
To enable pre-recording, set [Pre-Recording] to [On].

1 While the recorder is during recording mode, press the REC (s) button.
· The recorder enters recording pause mode. However, recording is performed continuously, and recorded data for up to 2 seconds* will be refreshed every second.
2 Press the REC (s) button.
· Recording pause will be released and recording will start. The recorded data will include those from up to 2 seconds* before the REC (s) button was pressed. * Recording start time will vary according to [Rec Mode] settings. · When using the [Pre-Recording] function, the following functions are not available. · [VCVA] ( P. 53) · [V-Sync. Noise Cancel If recorded audio is difficult to understand because of noisy surroundings, adjust the Noise Cancel setting level. [High] [Low]: Enables the Noise Cancel function. Noise will be reduced in the file when it's played back for better sound quality. · When using the [Noise Cancel] function, the following functions are not available. · Slow/Fast speed playback ( P. 41) · [Voice Filter] · [EUPHONY] · [Reverb] ( P. 59) EUPHONY This recorder is equipped with "EUPHONY MOBILE", the latest in surround sound systems which combines bandwidth correction, expansion technology, and virtual acoustical source processing technology.
