[. . . ] When the power cord is connected for the very first time, the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E will go on standby and the STANDBY indicator will light up. · To completely shutdown the DV-SP1000/ DV-SP1000E, set the POWER switch to the OFF position ( ). (This does not apply to the Canadian model). OUT DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E Controlling Other Out-of-range Components For another component that is out of range of its remote controller, you can use a commercially available IR emitter to retransmit the remote controller signals received at the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E's IR IN, as shown below. DPC-7. 4 AC INLET Signal flow Connect the IR emitter to the DV-SP1000/ DV-SP1000E's IR OUT, and place the IR emitter in front of the other AV component's remote control sensor (usually located on its front panel), as shown below. See the instructions supplied with the IR emitter. Plug the other end of the power cord into a suitable AC wall outlet. The STANDBY indicator comes on only if the POWER switch is in the ON ( ) position. (This does not apply to the Canadian model). IR IN Miniplug OUT DV-SP1000/ DV-SP1000E IR Emitter Signal flow 41 Connecting--Continued Turning On the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E STANDBY/ON STANDBY/ON POWER Canadian model 1 Set the POWER switch to the ON position ( ). (Ignore this step if you have the Canadian model. ) 2 STANDBY/ON Press the [STANDBY/ON] button. The display light ups and the STANDBY indicator goes off. The very first time you turn on the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E, the Initial Setup menu appears onscreen (see page 43). Press the [STANDBY/ON] button again to enter Standby. This is the mode for controlling the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E. 2 ON Press the [ON] button. To set the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E to Standby, press the [STANDBY] button. 42 Initial Setup This chapter explains the settings you need to make the very first time the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E is turned on. The On-Screen Language menu appears next. See page 81 for more information on the language options. The i. LINK Output Setting menu appears next. LAST MEMORY REC LM AUDIO STEP/SLOW RANDOM RD SUBTITLE ANGLE RESOLUTION First Time Setup The very first time you turn on the DV-SP1000/ DV-SP1000E, the Initial Setup menu appears onscreen. 3 Use the Up and Down [ ]/[ ] buttons to select Off or On for the i. LINK Output Setting (i. LINK), and then press [ENTER]. See page 76 for more information on the i. LINK Output Setting. If the i. LINK Output Setting is set to Off, the Analog Audio Out menu appears next. Here you need to make a few settings to get the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E up and running. You can change these settings later (see page 68). If it's set to On, the Initial Setup menu closes. 1 Remote controller ENTER Use the Up and Down [ ]/[ ] buttons to select a TV shape, and then press [ENTER]. 4 ENTER Select 4:3 Letter box or 4:3 Normal if you have a 4:3 TV. Select 16:9 Widescreen if you have a widescreen TV. See page 72 for more information. On the Analog Audio Out menu, use the Up and Down [ ]/[ ] buttons to select 2 Channel or Multi Channel (default), and then press [ENTER]. Choose 2 Channel if you're connecting the FRONT AUDIO OUTs to a stereo amp. [. . . ] Use the correct filename extension (page 10). Can't select MP3 files? Use Baseline JPEG files (page 10). Use JPEG files with the supported ratio (page 10). Use JPEG files that are less than 5 MB (page 10). Turn off the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E, wait five seconds, then turn it on again. If that doesn't resolve the issue, disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet, wait five seconds, reconnect it, then try again. [. . . ]
