[. . . ] You can also use the AV receiver's [DIMMER] button. To cancel the sleep timer, press the [SLEEP] button repeatedly until the SLEEP indicator disappears. To check the remaining sleep time, press the [SLEEP] button. Note that if you press the [SLEEP] button while the sleep time is being displayed, you'll shorten the sleep time by 10 minutes. Displaying Source Information You can display various information about the current input source as follows. Press the [RECEIVER] REMOTE MODE button, and then press the [DISPLAY] button repeatedly to cycle through the available information. Note: · This procedure can also be performed on the AV receiver by using its [DISPLAY] button. The following information can typically be displayed: Input source & volume*1 Signal format*2 or sampling frequency Input source & listening mode *1 When AM or FM radio is used, the band, preset number, and frequency are displayed. *2 If the input signal is analog, or AM or FM radio is selected, no format information is displayed. If the input signal is PCM, the sampling frequency is displayed. If the input signal is digital but not PCM, the signal format is displayed. Information is displayed for about 3 seconds, then the previous display reappears. 52 Common Functions--Continued Specifying the Digital Signal Format The following table shows the display indicator for each digital signal format. Format Dolby Digital DTS PCM PCM Display Normally, the AV receiver detects the format of digital input signals automatically. However, if you experience either of the following issues when playing PCM or DTS sources, you can specify the signal format manually. · If the beginnings of tracks from a PCM source are cut off, try the PCM setting. · If noise is produced when fast forwarding or rewinding a DTS CD, try the DTS setting. PCM: Only 2-channel PCM format input signals will be heard. If the input signal is not PCM, the PCM indicator will flash and there will be no sound. DTS: Only DTS (but not DTS-HD) format input signals will be heard. If the input signal is not DTS, the DTS indicator will flash and there will be no sound. Auto (default): The format is detected automatically. If no digital input signal is present, the corresponding analog input is used instead. 53 Listening to the Radio Listening to AM/FM Stations TUNER ON/STANDBY TUNING Manual Tuning Mode TUNING MASTER VOLUME PRESET 1 TUNING MODE Press the [TUNING MODE] button so that the AUTO indicator disappears from the display.
