If "CHECK ANTENNA" appears on the display, make sure the XM MiniTuner is connected properly. Notes: · RADIO ID cannot be selected in Category Search mode. You must select Channel Search mode (see page 54). · The following letters are not used in XM Satellite Radio IDs: I, O, S, F. · XM Satellite Radio will transmit a special signal to your AV receiver to activate the full channel lineup. Note: You can't select Channel Search or Category Search mode, while the Tuning Arrow indicators are flashing, as tuning is in progress. Channel Search Mode Selecting XM Channels from the Front Panel: 1 TUNING MODE Press the [TUNING MODE] button to select Channel Search or Category Search mode. 2 ENTER Press the [ENTER] button repeatedly to select a category. 1 ENTER Press the [RECEIVER] button, followed by the [ENTER] button to select Channel Search mode. 3 2 ENTER Use the Up and Down [ ]/[ ] buttons to select a channel. You can also use the Left and Right [ ]/[ ] buttons to select a category. TUNING Use the TUNING Up and Down [ ]/[ ] buttons to select a channel. In Channel Search mode, you can select any channel. In Category Search mode, you can only select channels from the currently selected category. Selecting the Previous Channel: 1 Category Search Mode AV receiver RETURN To listen to the previously selected XM channel, press the [RETURN] button. 1 ENTER Press the [RECEIVER] button, followed by the [ENTER] button to select Category Search mode. Remote controller 2 ENTER Use the Left and Right [ ]/[ ] buttons to select a category, and use the Up and Down [ ]/[ ] buttons to select a channel in that category. 54 Listening to the Radio--Continued Displaying XM Radio Information Press the [DISPLAY] button repeatedly to cycle through the available information. Positioning the XM Antenna You can check the signal strength of the XM Radio signal and adjust the position of the XM antenna accordingly. Channel name 1 RECEIVER Press the [RECEIVER] button, followed by the [SETUP] button. The following information is displayed: 1. Listening mode Note: · If the category, artist, or song title is not available, "- - -" will be displayed instead. Displaying XM Radio Information on Your TV When you select a different XM channel, or the artist or song title changes, the following information is displayed on your TV for 3 seconds. Input Setup, " and then press [ENTER]. 3 ENTER Use the Up and Down [ ]/[ ] buttons to select "3. XM Antenna Aiming, " and then press [ENTER]. Tip: You can display this information at anytime by pressing the [DISPLAY] button. XM Radio Messages The following messages may appear while using XM radio. CHECK ANTENNA 4 Adjust the position of the XM antenna so that the Satellite signal strength bar is as long as possible. 4-3. Antenna Aiming ---------TUNER---------a. UPDATING The XM user encryption code is being updated. Please wait. NO SIGNAL The signal is too weak. Check the XM Mini-Tuner and/or antenna connection and reposition it for the best reception. LOADING The main unit is tuning or decoding audio or text data. Please wait. OFF AIR The XM channel you selected is not currently broadcasting. If more than one code is listed, try each one. · If none of the codes work, use the Learning function to learn the commands of the other component's remote controller (page 89). · With some AV components, certain buttons may not work as expected, and some may not work at all.
