Temporary muting
Press the MUTING button on the remote controller. This button temporarily switches off the sound from the speakers or headphones. To cancel, q press the MUTING button again, or q turn the power off, then on.

Sleep facility
The sleep timer can power off the system after a specified time period. To operate this function, use the remote controller supplied with your TX-SV353. Start playing the source to which you would like to listen (CD, tape or radio broadcast). Set the amount of time after which you want the system to turn off. The sleep timer works for up to 90 minutes. You can shorten the timer in 10 minute increments by pressing the SLEEP button until the desired time has been reached. When the set time arrives, the power will be switched off automatically. Cancelling the sleep setting Press the SLEEP button until it changes to the source display to which you are listening. or The timer can also be cancelled while it is in operation by turning off the power.

1. Press either the FM or AM button on the main unit. Change the frequency using the DOWN or UP ® TUNING button. Press the DOWN TUNING button to decrease the frequency and press the ® UP TUNING button to increase the frequency. The TUNED indicator in the display lights up when the station is properly tuned in. In FM, each press of a TUNING button changes the frequency in 100 or 50 kHz steps; in AM, the frequency changes in steps of 9 or 10 kHz, depending on the area where the unit is used. If a button is continuously held down for more than 0. 5 seconds while tuning an FM station, the frequencies are scanned and tuning automatically stops when a broadcast is received.
