[. . . ] The base [CHARGE] light will come on to indicate the charging of handset. Always put the handset in the base cradle with the keypad facing outwards. Replacing the handset batteries If you have been using your handset and find that you can no longer recharge the batteries, they may need to be replaced. The same kind of batteries as supplied in this product should be used. Remove the battery compartment cover by sliding it in the direction shown by the arrow. Close the battery compartment cover and secure its screw. 1. 6 Before you start Out of range warning If your handset is out of range of the base unit, there is a beep sound to alert you, and the display will show: If so, please move closer to the base unit until the handset display stops flashing. Note: The out of range warning tone is activated in default setting. If you want to disable this tone, please refer to the section "Tone andVolume". Important: Due to radio interference in the environment, occasional loss of synchronisation between the handset and base may occur for a very short duration. The base will very quickly change to another channel automatically to overcome the interference and restore the synchronization. During this short period the handset display will flash. 10 Electrical safety * Do not install the base unit near a sink, bath or shower, or anywhere else where it could get wet. Electrical equipment can cause serious injury if used while you are wet or standing in water. If the base unit ever falls into water, Do not retrieve it until you have unplugged the power lead from the mains and the telephone line plug from the telephone socket; then pull it out by the unplugged cables. [. . . ] To set the second handset to monitor mode: * * * * * * On the second handset, press Press repeatedly to select "Monitor Mode" Press Select Monitor Mode "On" The handset display will show "Monitor Mode" Now, when you call the second handset from the first handset, the second handset will automatically answer and you will be in Monitor Mode. Note: To cancel the Monitor Mode, repeat the above steps and select Monitor Mode "Off".
