[. . . ] Reducer/Corrector for the ArgonautTM 150 #5101 The Reducer/Corrector for the Argonaut 150 Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope is a useful tool for photography through the telescope. It reduces the effective focal length of the system from 1800mm to 1440mm, which converts the f/12 optical system into an f/9. 6 system, allowing shorter exposure times. [. . . ] Insert the entire assembly directly into the telescope's focuser, and secure with the setscrew on the focuser drawtube. You are now ready to take photos through the f/9. 6 optical system. Store the Reducer/Corrector in a loose plastic bag in an eyepiece or equipment case. If dust builds up on the lens surfaces, simply blow it off with a blower bulb or lightly brush it off with a soft camel hair brush. Be careful not to touch the lens with your fingers, or you will need to clean it. To remove fingerprints or smudges from a lens, use photographic-type lens cleaning fluid and lint-free optical lens cleaning tissue. Place a few drops of fluid on the tissue (not directly on the lens), wipe gently, then remove the fluid with a dry tissue or two. Do not "polish" or rub hard when cleaning the lens, as this will scratch it. The tissue may leave fibers on the lens, but this is not a problem; they can be blown off with a blower bulb.
