(Note that the washer(s) should be under the top plate, not on the cork side. ) Reattach your instrument to the adapter and make sure the threaded stud no longer bottoms out. To Telescope Cork Pad Installation Remove the telescope tube rings from your SkyView equatorial mount. Place the 1/4"-20 adapter plate assembly on the equatorial head, with the cork surface facing up. Secure it in place with the two Allen-head screws, using the supplied Allen wrench. There is some variation in the depth of 1/4"-20 receptacles in different instruments.
