Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] The flashlight can be covered with the red filter to preserve night vision under dark skies. To operate the flashlight, the power switch must be in the "ON" position. Press the flashlight button (Figure 1) once to produce a constant light. Pressing the button a second time will cause the flashlight to flash on and off continuously. [. . . ] The green "Ready to Use" LED light will shine when the battery is fully charged. Do not exceed 20 hours of charging time. Recharging the Dynamo with DC Current Recharging the Dynamo with DC current should be done with the cigarette lighter receptacle in an automobile. The car's engine must be operating to properly charge the battery. Recharging the Dynamo with DC requires the supplied DC recharging adapter. Open the panel in the back of the Dynamo and remove the DC adapter. Press the power switch on the Dynamo into the "CHA" position. Plug the small end of the DC adapter into the charge input jack (Figure 1). Make certain the car engine is running, then plug the other end of the DC adapter into the cigarette lighter receptacle in the car. The red "Charging" LED light will come on indicating that the battery is charging. Charging should take about 5-8 hours the first time you charge the Dynamo. Subsequent charges should only take 6 hours, unless the Dynamo is severely drained. The green "Ready to Use" LED light will shine when the battery is fully charged. Do not exceed the recommended charge time. 4. Storage and Maintenance To optimize the lifetime of the Dynamo, several steps should be taken for its proper storage and maintenance. Make certain the power switch is in the "OFF" position before putting the Dynamo in storage. Keep stored a dry, cool area when not in use. Fully charge the Dynamo before putting it into storage. If you are going to store the Dynamo for long periods of time, you should occasionally recharge it (about every three months). Failure to do so will void your warranty. Resetting the Circuit Breaker If the power indicator LED light does not come on when you turn on the power switch, the circuit breaker (Figure 1) will need to be reset. Turn the power switch to the "OFF" position and press the circuit breaker button to reset it. Keep in mind that if you are drawing more than 10 Amps through the 12V/10A adapters you will always cause the circuit breaker to break. One-Year Limited Warranty This Dynamo is warranted against defects in materials or workmanship for a period of one year from the date of purchase. This warranty is for the benefit of the original retail purchaser only. During this warranty period Orion Telescopes & Binoculars will repair or replace, at Orion's option, any warranted instrument that proves to be defective, provided it is returned postage paid to: Orion Warranty Repair, 89 Hangar Way, Watsonville, CA 95076.
