If the power is on, the fan may rotate inside and may cause injury. Control panel CLEANING lamp reset button · Push this button to turn the CLEANING lamp off. Room temperature sensor: · senses the air temperature around the unit. ON/OFF switch · Push this switch once to start operation. · The mode is set to COOL, the air flow rate to AUTO and the temperature to 22°C. (see page 8 "DRY/ COOL/FAN Mode operation. ") · This switch is useful when the remote controller is missing. Receiver: · receives signals from the remote controller. · When the unit receives a signal, you will hear a short beep. 4 Names of Parts Remote controller Display Open the cover. displays the current settings. (In this illustration, each section is shown with all its displays ON for the purpose of explanation. ) AMPM Transmitter sends signals to the indoor unit. OFF/ON ON/OFF button Press it once to start operation. To stop it, press it once again. ON TEMP TEMPERATURE/TIME adjustment buttons change the temperature or time setting. C TIME OFF-TIMER CLOCK ON-TIMER CANCEL CLOCK button (See page 7 "Preparation Before Operation - Setting the Clock) OFF TIMER button ON TIMER button (See page 9 "Timer Operation") AMPM FAN SPEED MODE TIMER CANCEL button cancels the timer setting. MODE selector button selects the operation mode. : DRY : COOL : FAN SWING POWERFUL FAN setting button selects the air flow rate setting. OFF/ON TEMP SWING button (See page 8 "Adjusting the Air Flow Direction") You can operate these three buttons with the cover closed. POWERFULL button (See page 9 "POWERFUL Operation") ARC417A24 5 Preparation Before Operation Remote controller Setting the batteries Position and correctly!Address switch Operating the remote controller · To use the remote controller, aim the transmitter at the indoor · · unit. If there is anything to block signals between the unit and the remote controller, such as a curtain, the unit will not operate. The maximum distance for communication is about 7 m. 2 Receiver 3 1 1 2 3· Press with a finger and slide the back cover to take it off. Set the back cover as before. This will cause the figures on the display to flash. In DRY mode, if the flap is fixed at a upward position, the flap automatically moves in about 60 minutes to prevent condensation on it. Adjusting the louvre Display I To change the air flow rate setting: Press FAN SPEED . COOL or FAN mode DRY mode The air flow rate setting is not variable. Five levels of air flow rate setting from " " " plus " " are available. " to Display · At smaller air flow rates, the cooling effect is also smaller. I To change the air flow direction: (See page 8. ) Hold the knob and move the louvre. (You will find a knob on the left-end and the right-end blades. ) ATTENTION · · Always use a remote controller to adjust the flap angle. If you attempt to move it forcibly with hand when it is swinging, the mechanism may be broken. Inside the air outlet, a fan is rotating at a high speed. Notes on DRY mode operation · This operation dehumidifies the indoor air when it is humid. 8 Timer Operation Timer functions are useful for automatically switching the air conditioner on or off at night or in the morning. You can also use OFF TIMER and ON TIMER in combination. I To cancel the timer: CANCEL Press . Then the TIMER lamp goes off.
