Power On/Off Press and hold E International Dialling Press and hold 0, until + appears in the display, use e to select the appropriate country, then press B Make a Call Use the keypad to enter the area code and telephone number you require, then press D Add a Phonebook Entry Enter phone number and press A. Press B, enter name and press B twice Correcting an Error Press C once to erase the previous character Press and hold C to remove all characters entered Dial a Phonebook Entry Press A, then use e to select the desired number, then press D Redial Last Number Press DD What is My Number ? This function is SIM dependent. Press B25 and the number of your phone is displayed End a Call Press E to end a call Answer a Call Press any key except E, g or A Set Key Guard In the idle mode press B three times and the keys are locked to avoid accidental presses Adjust Ear Volume Press e during a call Access WAP Browser Press and hold P Disable Key Guard When Free is displayed in the main option area, press B twice to remove the Key Guard Make Emergency Call Press 112 D Getting Started . 16 Restoring the Default Phone Settings . Activating the Browser The Browser can be activated from Idle mode either by: pressing and holding the P key or pressing B 41 The first time that the Browser is activated there is no content stored so the Home URL content is displayed (as defined by the network operator). From the second time onwards, the last displayed page is recalled from cache (cache is the area that stores content downloaded in the past). When recalling content from cache the phone remains off-line (not connected to a WAP server). Note: If a different SIM is used in the phone, any secure site authentication will be lost. New authentication will be required for the replacement SIM 39 WAP Browser Navigating Content Use g to scroll through the content on the screen as follows: Press e to scroll up/down on the current page Short press C to return to the previous page When linked text (Square Brackets [text]) is highlighted press B to load the page represented by the link. ( ) ~ p Indicates a table - when highlighted press B to view contents of table Indicates an image which cannot be displayed Indicates on-line browsing Indicates off-line browsing The Browser Menu The Browser contains its own menu which is applicable when content is being displayed (either on-line or off-line). The Browser menu is accessed by a short press of the P key. Deactivating the Browser The Browser can be deactivated as follows: When browsing on-line or off-line press and hold C to exit Browser Setting the Linger Time The phone is automatically disconnected from the WAP server after a set period of non-interaction. This period is defined in seconds by the Linger Time setting. 1 From Idle mode press B 421 to enter the Linger Time menu 2 Press e to select Current Value or Minimum Value 3 Press B 4 Press and hold C to remove the current linger time, then re-enter the value required and press B 40 Additional Features Additional Features DTMF Tones DTMF tones can be sent during conversation. These are often used for accessing voice mail, paging and computerized home banking. For example, you may need to input a number to remotely access voice mail messages. A phone number may be stored in the Phonebook with DTMF tones, allowing the number to be dialed upon recall and the DTMF number to be sent automatically. Send DTMF Tones During a Call Enter digits (0 to 9, # and *) Pause Dial Using pauses allows you to send DTMF tones automatically. 1 Enter phone number 2 Press and hold 0 until a P is displayed 3 Enter DTMF digits after the pause, for example, enter the number to access voice mail messages, and press D +012345P6 Names Menu When the call is successful DTMF tones are sent after 3 seconds or when D is pressed. If the DTMF tones are unsuccessful then the destination of your call may require that the length of the tones be increased. 4 From Idle mode press B 55 to enter the DTMF Length menu 5 Use e to set to Long and press B 41 Additional Features Note Pad During a call you can enter numbers which you may want to dial when the call has ended. During a call: 1 Enter phone number 2 When the call has ended press D to call that number To store in Phonebook, press A while the number is displayed see "Store a Number" page 11. Accessory Related Features When Auto Answer is switched on, and Personal Handsfree is connected, a call will be answered without pressing any keys. See the documentation provided with the relevant Accessory for operational details. 42 Text Entry Text Entry The phone provides a means for entering alphanumeric characters enabling you to enter details into the Phonebook, to create text messages etc. This section details the characters that can be entered and the relevant keys to press.
