To use this feature, you must subscribe to the appropriate service of your service provider. Be sure to use the telephone line cord included in this unit. This model is designed to be used only in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Copy 5. 3. 2 To reduce a document 5. 3 More copying features L Keep the front cover page open for button locations. L Make sure that the {COPY} light is ON. 1 2 3 4 5 Set the original. Press {V} repeatedly to select from "95%" to "50%" by changing the reduction rate 5% at a time. After you finish copying, press {STOP} to reset this feature. 5. 3. 1 To enlarge a document 1 2 3 4 5 Set the original. Press {^} repeatedly to select from "105%" to "200%" by changing the enlargement rate 5% at a time. After you finish copying, press {STOP} to reset this feature. Example: 70% reduced copy Using the auto document feeder: Original document Reduced copy L When using the auto document feeder, the unit will only enlarge the centre of the upper part of the document. To make an enlarged copy of the bottom of the document, turn the document around, and then make a copy. L When using the scanner glass, the unit will only enlarge the right top corner of the document starting from the l mark on the unit. Example: 150% enlarged copy Using the auto document feeder: Original document Enlarged copy Using the scanner glass (1): Original document Reduced copy 1 5. 3. 3 To collate multiple copies (Auto document feeder only) The unit can collate multiple copies in the same order as the original document pages. Using the scanner glass (1): Original document Enlarged copy 1 1 2 3 4 5 6 Set the original. Press {V} or {^} repeatedly to display "ON". Copy Example: Making 2 copies of a 4-page original document 4 3 2 1 3 4 3 2 1 1 1 2 2 3 4 4 Collated pages Uncollated pages Note: L The unit will store the documents into memory while collating the copies. The maximum number of original document for collating copies depends on the contents of pages, resolution and contrast. Approximately 50 pages of ITU-T No. 1 Test Chart in "TEXT" mode can be stored at a time, if the unit has no documents in memory. See page 88 of the specifications in detail. L If memory becomes full while storing, the unit will only print out the stored pages. L The collating feature is effective only for this time. After copying, this feature will turn OFF automatically. 47 6.
