Minutes after you hang up or after the phone stops ringing, your unit will seize the phone line and check if a message has been recorded. If a new message was recorded at your telephone company, "Voicemail" will be displayed on the handset and the base unit VM indicator will flash. Set this programming to "Off" when: --you do not subscribe to a voice mail service, --your telephone company does not send a series of tones, followed by a continuous tone, or --your phone is connected to a business or office telephone system (PBX).
