Programming using the direct commands

{MENU} Enter the desired feature code. L This step may vary depending on the feature being programmed. {Save} i {OFF}
Note: L In the following table: < > shows the default setting. L If the message memory becomes full, the ANSWER ON indicator flashes rapidly (if the answering system is turned on). L If less than 3 minutes of recording time is available, the unit announces the remaining recording time when operating the answering system. Erase unnecessary messages (page 37).
Recording your greeting message
You can record your own greeting message (max. 2 minutes) that is played when the answering system answers a call. If you do not record a greeting message, a prerecorded greeting message is used.
Turning the answering system on/off
Press {ANSWER ON} to turn on/off the answering system. L When the answering system is turned on, the ANSWER ON indicator lights. L When the answering system is turned off, the ANSWER ON indicator turns off.

To stop recording, press {STOP}.
Playing back the greeting message Press {GREETING CHECK}. Erasing your greeting message Press {GREETING CHECK}, and then press {ERASE} while your greeting message is playing.
Listening to messages using the base unit
When new messages have been recorded, the MESSAGE indicator on the base unit flashes. L When you have no new messages, the unit plays back all messages. Adjusting the speaker volume Press {^} or {V} repeatedly while listening to a message.
