Location of Controls. 6 Connecting the Handset/ Telephone Line Cord . [. . . ] · The display will return to step 1. To exit the programming mode, press [FUNCTION/EXIT] or wait for 60 seconds. · If the display shows "MEMORY IS FULL" in step 2, press [FUNCTION/EXIT] to exit. To erase other stored items from the Speed Dial List, see page 24. · You can exit the programming mode any time by pressing [FUNCTION/EXIT]. · If a pause is required for dialing, press [REDIAL/PAUSE] where needed. If required, you can also store [FLASH] in a phone number. Pressing [REDIAL/PAUSE] or [FLASH] counts as one digit (p. 29), you cannot store the phone number in the Speed Dial List (#01 to #03).

Selecting characters to enter names
The dialing buttons ([0] to [9]) can be used to enter letters and symbols. Pressing each button selects a character as shown below.

Advanced Operation
If you make a mistake while entering a name Use [ ] or [ ] to move the cursor to the incorrect character, press [CLEAR] to delete and enter the correct character. Each time you press [CLEAR], a character is erased. For example, to enter "TOM JONES":
