HOLD (Function lock)
The hold function stops the buttons from being operated. By keeping the hold function on, you can stop the power from being switched on, play from being stopped and other operations from being done by mistake.
Resume function
Play resumes from where last stopped. [. . . ] Over time your hearing "comfort level" adapts to higher volumes of sound. So what sounds "normal" can actually be loud and harmful to your hearing. Guard against this by setting your equipment at a safe level BEFORE your hearing adapts. To establish a safe level: pStart your volume control at a low setting. pSlowly increase the sound until you can hear it comfortably and clearly, and without distortion. Once you have established a comfortable sound level: pLeave it there.

1. For CD-DA format, use a music disc and finalizea it after recording. The unit may not be able to play some discs due to the condition of the recording.
