[. . . ] Turn off power to your notebook using the power switch, and remove any power adapter (AC or auto/airline). Make sure that all the connector covers are closed. Turn the notebook bottom side up, with the front panel toward you. Remove the screws of the memory upgrade module compartment. Remove the cover. Figure 4-6 Installing a Memory Upgrade Module 9. POINT The memory upgrade module is not something you routinely remove from your notebook. Once it is installed, you can leave it in place unless you want to change system memory capacity. Pull the clips sideways away from each side of the memory upgrade module at the same time. While holding the clips out, remove the module from the slot by lifting it up and pulling towards the rear of your notebook. (Figure 4-7) CHECKING THE COMPUTER RECOGNITION OF NEW MEMORY CAPACITY Once you have changed the system memory capacity by either adding or removing a memory upgrade module, be sure to check that your notebook has recognized the change. (Figure 4-9) Port Replicator Release Latch Lift the Port Replicator Release latch to remove the Port Replicator from your notebook. (Figure 4-9) Figure 4-11 Securing the Port Replicator DETACHING THE PORT REPLICATOR To detach the Port Replicator follow these easy steps: 1. Untighten the attachment knobs to unsecure the Port Replicator from your notebook. Lift the Port Replicator's release latch up to release it from your notebook. Pull away the Port Replicator to detach it from your notebook. ATTACHING THE PORT REPLICATOR To attach the Port Replicator follow these easy steps: 1. Align the Port Replicator connector on the back of your notebook with the connector on the Port Replicator and push together. (Figure 4-10) Figure 4-10 Attaching the Port Replicator 3. Tighten the attachment knobs to secure the Port Replicator to your notebook.
