Green-and-yellow: Earth Blue: Neutral Brown: Live As the colours of the wire in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows. The wire which is coloured green-and-yellow must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol I or coloured green or green-and-yellow. Do not touch components mounted on the HDD directly with hand. Hold only both sides of the HDD when installing. · Avoid condensation on the surface of the HDD. Wait until the dew evaporates if any of the following cases takes place. The appliance is moved to a place significantly deferent in temperature or humidity. [NC]: No connection o Cooling Fan !0 AC Inlet [AC IN] Connect the supplied power cord. !1 Power Switch [POWER] Turn on this switch (peripherals) first, then the power of the WJ-PB85T08. Confirm all HDD access lamps go out before turning off this switch. Switch off the power of the WJ-PB85T08 first, then turn off this switch (peripherals). !2 Signal GND Terminal [SIGNAL GND] Connect this terminal with other equipment's SIGNAL GND to avoid possible grounding loop and noise if required. <REAR VIEW> r SCSI In connector [EXT IN] Connect the WJ-PB85T08 or other Extension Unit with a SCSI cable. t SCSI Out connector [EXT OUT] Connect another Extension Unit with a SCSI cable. y SCSI ID Switch [SCSI ID ­/+] Press the upper or lower selector with a small headed screw driver to select the desired SCSI ID in the chain. -3- + ui o !0 !1 !2 s Mounting HDDs A maximum of 4 HDD units (locally procured) can be mounted on one extension unit. [. . . ] Keep the removed fixing bracket and 4 screws so that they are to be used later. Dummy Bracket 4 Prepare an HDD unit. HDD Fixing Bracket 5 Mount the HDD on the fixing bracket then fasten them together with 4 screws. HDD Fixing Bracket Jumper Connector -4- 6 Set the unit address with jumper connector on the HDD as shown. Note: For further details, refer to the instructions included in the HDD unit. HDD #2 & #4 (SLAVE) Jumper Position HDD #1 & #3 (MASTER) Jumper Position 7 Place the HDD into the appropriate opening, then fix it with 2 screws. 8 Plug the 2 connector harness to the installed HDD as shown.
