Accessing the Camera Settings
Simply press the Q button or 3 button, or touch the LCD monitor to set up and operate the camera.

These are the indications on the monitor during Capture or Playback mode.

Using the touch display
Use the touch display by directly touching the LCD monitor with your finger. It is recommended that you use the stylus when precise operations are required such as editing images after shooting.
Touch
This refers to touching the touch display with your finger or the stylus and then releasing it.
Touch an icon to select it, and release to set that option (a guide display may appear describing the function of the selected icon before it is set). Touch an item for more than two seconds to cancel the selection. Use this to display toolbars or select icons. [. . . ] 9).
· The icon of the currently selected Drive Mode appears on the [Capture Toolbar]. · The Drive Mode screen appears.

Touch the Self-timer Mode. g).
· On the Drive Mode screen, the icon of the currently selected self-timer mode appears in place of the g icon. · The g and Z icons appear on the LCD monitor. · The self-timer options can be switched at any time by touching the g or Z icon.

Press the shutter release button halfway.
The focus frame on the LCD monitor turns green if the subject is in focus.
Press the shutter release button fully.
A countdown of the time until the picture is taken appears on the LCD monitor, and the picture is taken ten seconds or two seconds after the shutter release button is pressed.
Memo
Pressing the shutter release button halfway during the countdown cancels the countdown. Press the shutter release button fully to restart the countdown.

Instead of pressing the shutter release button, you can use the Remote control E or F (optional) to take pictures.

· On the Drive Mode screen, the icon of the currently selected remote control mode appears in place of the i icon. · The h and i icons appear on the LCD monitor. · The remote control options can be switched at any time by touching the h or i icon. · The self-timer lamp blinks in remote control mode.
Press the shutter release button on the remote control.
i: The self-timer lamp flashes quickly and the picture is taken after approximately three seconds. h: The picture is immediately taken.

To cancel recording in Movie Recording mode, press the shutter release button on the remote control or the camera.

Using the Remote Control to Adjust the Zoom Magnification
With the Remote control E (optional), you can also adjust the zoom magnification with the zoom button.

Press the zoom button on the remote control in remote control mode.
The zoom magnification changes each time the button is pressed.
Caution
· You cannot use the zoom button on the remote control when the focus mode is set to q (Macro). · You can only use the zoom button on the remote control to adjust the zoom magnification within the optical zoom range. You cannot adjust the zoom magnification within the digital zoom range.

· All buttons on the camera are operable even when using the remote control function. · The remote control can be operated up to approximately 4 m (13 ft. ) from the front of the camera. · With a new battery, the remote control can send signals to the camera approximately 30, 000 times.

Taking Continuous Pictures
In this mode, pictures are taken continuously for as long as the shutter release button is pressed. You can continue shooting until the memory capacity of the SD Memory Card or built-in memory is full.

The setting is saved and the camera returns to Capture mode.
Press the shutter release button halfway.

Pictures are taken continuously for as long as you keep the shutter release button pressed.
Caution
The flash will not discharge in Continuous Shooting mode.
Memo
· The interval of continuous shooting will vary according to the recorded pixels and quality level settings. · The focus and exposure are locked with the first image.

Setting the Instant Review Time
You can choose the Instant Review time (the length of time the image is displayed immediately after a picture is taken) from [1sec], [2sec], [3sec], [4sec], [5sec] and [Off] (no display).
