Use the CHANNEL o/p buttons or the Number buttons to select the channel to be recorded.
Press the REC(ord)/OTR button once to start recording. The REC(ord) light will appear.
To pause the recording, press the PAUSE/STILL button once. To resume recording, press the REC(ord)/OTR button or press the PAUSE/STILL button again. The REC(ord) light will come on again.
Helpful Hints
· If you press the REC(ord)/OTR button when there is not a tape in the VCR, NO CASSETTE will flash on the screen. · If you press the REC(ord)/OTR button while a tape without a record tab is in the VCR, the VCR will eject the tape and PROTECTED CASSETTE CANNOT RECORD will flash on the screen. · Other recording options are on pages 26-32. · You can change the tape speed during a recording, but some distortion will appear on the tape. · The VCR will record in a preset volume.
To stop recording, press the STOP/p button.

Helpful Hint
· If you use a Cable Box or Direct Broadcast System hookup, you may not be able to watch one channel while recording another. See pages eight-nine for details.
One-Touch Recording 27
The One-Touch Recording (OTR) feature allows you to set an immediate timed recording 30 minutes to eight hours long. Before you begin: q Set up the channels at the VCR. q Select a recording speed (SP, SLP) with the SPEED button. Make sure the tape's record tab is intact and the tape is long enough to record the program(s). If the end of a tape is reached during an OTR, the VCR will eject the tape and turn itself off. (The VCR/TV light will appear on the display panel. If it does not, press the VCR/TV button once. )

[. . . ] You may have to set your TV to channel 03 or 04, then make your channel selections at the DBS. · With many DBS hookups, if you use accessory audio and video cables to connect your VCR to your TV, you will have to put your VCR in Line Input mode (channel 001 or 002). Line Input mode · If you accidentally enter Line Input mode (AV FRONT or AV REAR will appear on your TV screen briefly), press the CHANNEL o/p buttons or use the Number buttons to select another channel.
