The picture advances each time you press PAUSE k. After a tape is paused for 5 minutes, playback will stop automatically. This prevents damage to the tape and TV/VCR/DVD. If the still picture vibrates vertically, stabilize the picture by pressing CH. To release the still picture and return to normal playback, press PLAY B. Helpful Hints · SP/LP/SLP means this feature will work with tapes recorded in Standard Playback, Long Playback or Super Long Playback. Automatic Rewind, Eject, Off When you play, fast forward or record a videotape to its end, the TV/VCR/DVD will rewind the tape, stop, turn itself off, and eject the tape. If Repeat Play is activated, playback will start again instead. The tape will not rewind automatically after a timer recording ends. To rewind a tape after timer recordings, see Auto Return details on page 35. Automatic Tracking Adjustment The TV/VCR/DVD automatically adjusts the videotape tracking to give you the best possible picture quality. With some recordings, however, you may get a better picture using the manual tracking controls (see below). Manual Tracking To adjust the tracking manually, press CHANNEL o/p on the front of the TV/VCR/DVD or CH. o/p on the remote control during playback. Tracking returns to Automatic Tracking Adjustment when you insert a tape or press STOP C. Not all TV programs and commercials have closed captions or all types of closed captions (second language, half-screen text, etc. ). If closed captioning is not broadcast, you cannot receive it. This does not indicate a problem with the TV/VCR/DVD. Check your TV program listings for shows with closed captions. If the TV/VCR/DVD receives poor quality television signals, the captions may contain errors, or there might be no captions at all.
