To pause the recording (for example, during commercials), press the PAUSE/STILL button. The PAUSE light will appear on the display panel. To resume recording, press the PAUSE/STILL button again. The PAUSE light will disappear from the display panel.
Press the STOP button to stop recording. The REC(ord) light will disappear from the display panel.
32 One Touch Recording
The one touch recording (OTR) function allows you to start an immediate timed recording 30 minutes to nine hours long of the channel you are watching. Before you begin, make sure: · Channels are programmed. · The desired recording speed (SP or SLP) has been selected with the (Tape) SPEED button. Make sure the tape's record tab is intact (see page five) and the tape is long enough to record the program(s). If the end of the tape is reached during an OTR, recording will stop. The VCR will eject the tape and turn itself off. (The VCR light will appear on the display panel of the VCR when the VCR is in VCR position. If the VCR light does not appear, press the VCR/TV button once. )

Press the REC(ord)/OTR button 2 - 19 times, until the desired recording length (30 minutes to nine hours) appears in the upper left corner of the screen and on the display panel briefly. The OTR light will flash on the display panel; the REC(ord) light will appear on the display panel.

Stopping an OTR
To stop an OTR before recording is finished, press the STOP button. To cancel the OTR but continue recording, press the REC(ord)/OTR button until REC appears in the upper left corner of the TV screen. The REC(ord) light will remain on the display panel, but the OTR light will disappear.
Helpful Hints
· To check the time remaining for an OTR after the OTR is in progress, press the EXIT/STATUS button. · To change the recording length while an OTR is in progress, press the REC(ord)/OTR button until the desired length appears on-screen. · If the preset time for a timer recording comes up during an OTR, the OTR has priority.

Use the TV remote control to select the channel you want to watch. Or, if the VCR remote control operates your TV, press the TV button, then use the CHANNEL Up/Down buttons to select the channel you want to watch. The channel selected with the TV controls will appear on-screen while the channel you previously selected to record is being recorded.
