Insert a tape. Insert a tape with its record tab intact (details are on page 5) in the VCR. The power will come on. Press the REC(ord)/OTR button to start recording. The \ light will appear on the VCR display panel. To pause the recording (for example, during commercials), press the STILL/SLOW button on the remote control. The \ M M light will appear on the display panel. To resume recording, press the STILL/SLOW button again. The \ light will appear on the display panel. Helpful Hints · If the REC(ord)/OTR button is pressed while a tape without a record tab is in the VCR, PROTECTED CASSETTE CANNOT RECORD will appear on-screen briefly. · The VCR records in a preset volume. · If the end of the tape is reached while recording, the VCR will stop recording, rewind the tape, then stop. VRZ360 4/7/99 9:53 PM Page 30 30 One-Touch Recording The One-Touch Recording (OTR) function allows you to start an immediate timed recording 30 minutes to six hours long of the channel you are watching. Before you begin, make sure: · Channels are set up. · The desired recording speed (SP or SLP) has been selected with the SPEED button. Make sure the tape's record tab is intact (see page 5) and the tape is long enough to record the program(s). If the end of the tape is reached during an OTR, recording will stop. The VCR will eject the tape and turn itself off. (The VCR light will appear on the display panel of the VCR when the VCR is in VCR position. OTR (0:30) Stopping an OTR To stop an OTR before recording is finished, press the STOP 9 button.
