EXIT/STATUS TIMER SKIP SEARCH INDEX Press the REC(ord)/OTR button to start recording. The \ light will appear on the VCR display panel. If no tape is in the VCR, NO CASSETTE will appear on the screen briefly. SMARTPICTURE To pause the recording (for example, during commercials), press the STILL/SLOW button. The \ M M light will appear on the display panel. To resume recording, press the STILL/SLOW button again. The \ light will appear on the display panel. Helpful Hints · If the REC(ord)/OTR button is pressed while a tape without a record tab is in the VCR, PROTECTED CASSETTE CANNOT RECORD will appear on the screen briefly. · The VCR records in a preset volume. · If the end of the tape is reached while recording, the VCR will stop recording, rewind the tape, then stop. The \ light will disappear from the display panel. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . - + FF /OK CH AUDIO/MUTE REC /OTR 7 30 One-Touch Recording The One-Touch Recording (OTR) function allows you to start an immediate timed recording 30 minutes to six hours long of the channel you are watching. Before you begin, make sure: · Channels are set up. · The desired recording speed (SP or SLP) has been selected with the SPEED button. Make sure the tape's record tab is intact (see page 5) and the tape is long enough to record the program(s). If the end of the tape is reached during an OTR, recording will stop. The VCR will eject the tape and turn itself off. (The VCR light will appear on the display panel of the VCR when the VCR is in VCR position. [. . . ] · Select CABLE at the TUNER SET UP menu, then let the VCR set up the channels. · Check the connections between the VCR, TV, antenna/cable, and Cable Box/DBS (if applicable). · Make sure channels are programmed correctly. · Make sure the tape has a record tab.
