[. . . ] · If you press the REC(ord)/OTR button while a tape without a record tab is in the VCR, the VCR will eject the tape and PROTECTED CASSETTE CANNOT RECORD will flash on the screen. · Other recording options are on pages 31-37. · You can change the tape speed during a recording, but some distortion will appear on the tape. · The VCR will record in a preset volume.
To pause the recording, press the PAUSE/STILL button once. To resume recording, press the REC(ord)/OTR button or press the PAUSE/STILL button again. The REC(ord) light will come on again.
To stop recording, press the STOP/p button.

Press the VCR/TV button to put the VCR in TV position. The VCR light will disappear from the VCR's display panel.
Press the TV button, then press the CH(annel) o/p or Number buttons to select the channel you want to watch at the TV. (If the VCR remote control doesn't operate your TV, use the TV remote control to select the channel. )

To return to the channel being recorded, press the TV button, then use the Number buttons to select channel 03 or 04 at the TV (whichever channel the CH3/CH4 switch on the back of the VCR is set to). (If the VCR remote control doesn't operate your TV, use the TV remote control to select channel 03 or 04. )

Press the VCR/TV button to put the VCR in VCR position. The VCR light will appear on the display panel. The channel being recorded will appear on the TV screen.
Press the STOP/p button to stop the recording.
Helpful Hints
· If your VCR remote control does not operate your TV, see page 21 for details. · If you use a Cable Box or Direct Broadcast System, you may not be able to watch one channel while recording another. See pages eightnine for details.
32 One-Touch Recording
The One-Touch Recording (OTR) feature allows you to set an immediate timed recording 30 minutes to eight hours long. Before you begin: q Set up the channels at the VCR. q Select a recording speed (SP, SLP) with the SPEED button. Make sure the tape's record tab is intact and the tape is long enough to record the program(s). (The VCR light will appear on the display panel. If it does not, press the VCR/TV button once. )

Helpful Hints
· To check the time remaining for an OTR that is in progress, press the STATUS/EXIT button. [. . . ] If not, ask the manager or sales associate how many days you have to exchange a product with them.
