Demo mode When the set is first connected to a power supply or has been reset, `PHILIPS' will scroll continuously across the demonstration display. The brightness of the display will change in this sequence: bright ª dim ª backlight off (for AC adapter on) · The brightness of the display will change in this sequence: off ª dim (5 seconds) ª off (for Batteries) Select your waveband using the BAND switch. SETTING THE ALARM REPEAT ALARM This repeats your alarm call at 5 minute intervals. ⷠDuring the alarm call, press REPEAT ALARM / BRIGHTNESS CONTROL. During alarm activated or repeat alarm mode, press and hold the AL 1 or AL 2 button for more than 1 second. TM The selected alarm indicator and alarm time disappears and you will hear 'Alarm OFF'. SLEEP About Sleep This set has a built-in sleep timer, which enables the radio to be automatically switched off after a set period of time. 2 Within 1 second, press SLEEP / RADIO ON again once or more to select your sleep time. ⷠThe display shows in sequence ON, and the sleep time options: SL : 30, SL : 20, SL : 10 and OFF. GENERAL If you wish to use the alarm, first set the alarm time before selecting your choice of two alarm modes, radio or buzzer/cockcrow. TM The ALARM 1 display and m appear and you will hear 'Alarm ON'. ­ Make sure you have adjusted the volume loud enough to wake you up!TM The ALARM 2 display and or appear and you will hear 'Alarm ON'. [. . . ] Do not open the set as there is a risk of electric shock!No sound ­ Volume not adjusted · Connect AC/DC adapter or insert fresh batteries Display error / no reaction to any controls ­ Electrostatic discharge · Press the RESET hole on the bottom of the set with a ball-pen. Or disconnect set from AC/DC adaptor and batteries for 5 minutes, then re-plug Continuous crackling and hiss noise during AM reception ­ Interference from other electrical equipment e. [. . . ]
