Congratulations on purchasing this Philips product. We've included everything you need to get started. [. . . ] Press ; : to select the required speed: -1, -1/2, -1/4 or -1/8 (backward), or 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 or 1 (forward). The Disc will start to play at the speed you selected, for example, one-half as fast as normal (1/2). Select 1 to play the Disc at normal speed again. Select 0 or press PAUSE k on the remote control to pause the picture.

To search a DVD, Video CD, or DVD+RW at four times the normal speed, press FORWARD ¡ or REVERSE 1 during playback. To search at 32 times the normal speed, press FORWARD ¡ or REVERSE 1 again. On an Audio CD, to search the Disc at four times the normal speed, press FORWARD ¡ or REVERSE 1 during playback. To search at eight times the normal speed, press FORWARD ¡ or REVERSE 1 again. Each press of FORWARD ¡ or REVERSE 1 switches between the slower and faster search speed. Press PLAY : to resume playback or press STOP C to stop playback.

Press the Number buttons to enter the time at which you want playback to begin. Enter the hour, minutes, and seconds from left to right in the box. The time must be within the possible time frame of the current Chapter or Disc. If it is not, play will not begin after you press OK at step 5. Instead, the first space in the time edit box will blink. After a few seconds, playback will resume at the point you selected. Press SYSTEM MENU to remove the Menu Bar.

This will continue until the end of the Disc is reached or you resume regular playback. To continue regular playback from a Chapter/Track, press SCAN again or press PLAY :.

During Disc playback, press REPEAT repeatedly to choose a Repeat option. Depending on the type of Disc, you may choose to play the Chapter, Track, Title, or Disc repeatedly. During DVD, Video CD, or DVD+RW playback, the repeat symbols will appear briefly on the TV screen. [. . . ] This also is referred to as the component video connection.
