To send a short message to someone whose number isn't stored in the Phonebook, press C and select Messages, then Send SMS and New. Enter the phone number to which the message should be sent to and press +. Then follow the instructions below to send a message. Select the number of your choice and press , .

Together with an attachment
This option allows you to attach a sound, icon or animation to your message. 1 Depending on the type of file you want to attach, select Add graphic to attach a bitmap image or an animation, and/or Add sound to attach a melody. Select the sub-menu of your choice, then one of the available items in the list that appears, and press , to confirm and attach it to your message.

You can send up to 2 attachements of 2 different types together with your SMS. Animations and pictures are exclusive: if you first select an animation, then a picture, only the picture will be taken into account and vice-versa. Some icons, animations and sounds are pre-defined and shipped as standard with your mobile phone. Personal pictures and sounds, e. g. , that you have received via SMS or e-mail and then stored in the relevant menus, will automatically appear in the "Own" sub-menus (Own melodies, Own animations, etc. ). You cannot send "Own" items via SMS when they are copyright-protected.

Allows you to store the current message and its associated icon and melody if any. Press , to confirm.
Read an SMS The Read SMS item of the Messages menu allows you to consult the list of SMS you have saved and received, as well as delete, reply, re-send or forward these Read SMS messages. An icon displayed on the screen informs you that you have received one or several messages. Press , to read it, and a second time to access the next carousel.

When the message is displayed, press , to access the following options: - Reply to the sender and send him a message, - Forward the selected message (choose the recipient in the Phonebook or enter a phone number manually; you cannot modify a forwarded SMS), - Delete the selected message, - Store number of the sender if it is attached to the message, - Store melody if a melody was sent together with the SMS (see "Downloaded and own melody" page 27), - Store graphic(s) if one or several graphics and/or animations were sent together with the message, - Extract a number included in the message itself, if this number is included within double quotes (several numbers can be included and extracted), - Call the sender of the message (operator-dependent).
