If you set the temperature dial to a lower setting after ironing at a high temperature,  allow the iron to cool down for five minutes before you recommence ironing. 3 Types GC149,  GC148,  GC139,  GC136 and GC135 only: Start ironing when the amber temperature pilot light has first gone out and then come on again (fig. B The amber pilot light will come on from time to time during ironing. 1 Remove the mains plug from the wall socket and let the iron cool down.
