When the ironing board is switched on, it will automatically start to heat up. The proper fan mode depends on the type of fabric: Suction mode Ú : wool, cotton, linen. To fix garments on the ironing board for firm pressing and better ironing results or to make pleats in thick fabrics. The ironing board also allows you to iron while sitting down. It is recommend to use the ironing board in combination with a Philips Intellicare (GC8080/8030) or Provapor (GC60xx) ironing system. The steam tank can be placed in right-hand as well as left-hand orientation. 3 To secure the steam tank , push the steam tank locator inwards. The steam tank is now fixed so that it cannot move sideways. However, it can be still be lifted off the tray for storage. To prevent condensation inside the ironing board, it is recommended that you use the blowing mode periodically during steam ironing. To clean the ironing board cover, loosen the cover fastener and remove the cover. Remove the steam tank from the steam tank tray before you store the ironing board. Be careful with the hot iron when you remove it from the ironing board!Unplug the ironing board and put the mains cord in the cord storage compartment. Keep the height adjustment levers pressed and lower the ironing board until you hear a click. Lift the rear leg of the ironing board and wheel it to its storage place. Store the ironing board with the ironing surface pointing towards the wall for extra stability. To guarantee proper functioning of the ironing board, always use original ironing board covers (type number GC9001), which can be purchased at service centres authorised by Philips. The ironing board may be hot after steam ironing. [. . . ] Check the mains cord of the ironing board, the plug and the wall socket. switch the ironing board on by pushing the on/off switch to position I. Make sure that the mains cord of the steam tank has been properly plugged into the socket of the ironing board and the mains cord of the ironing board has been properly plugged into the wall socket.
