[. . . ] 3 Hold a cup under the EASY DE-CALC knob. Turn the EASY DE-CALC knob anti-clockwise and let the water with scale particles flow into the cup. When no more water comes out of the steam generator, reinsert the EASY DE-CALC knob. Turn the knob clockwise to fasten it and put the plug back into the socket again. You can now use the steam generator again. 10 English Cleaning the soleplate Clean the soleplate regularly to remove stains from the soleplate. -- To maintain a good gliding of your soleplate, it is recommended to clean it regularly (once every 2 months). You can do that by heating up the iron and moving the soleplate over a moist cloth. -- Descaling the soleplate: if you do not descale your steam generator regularly, scale may build up on the soleplate. You can remove scale by following the instructions below: 1 Descale the steam generator before you clean the soleplate (see section ‘IMPORTANT - Descaling the steam generator’). 2 Tilt the steam generator and pour 500ml distilled water into the opening. Reinsert the EASY DE-CALC knob and turn the knob clockwise to fasten it. 3 Press the on/off button and wait for 5 minutes. 4 Put a piece of thick cloth on your ironing board. Place your iron on the cloth, press and hold the steam trigger. While pressing the steam trigger, slowly move the iron back and forth across the cloth until no water comes out anymore or when steam comes out. Hot, dirty water comes out of the soleplate. 5 Switch off the steam generator and let it cool down for 2 hours. 6 Remove the EASY DE-CALC knob and let the water flow into a cup. Reinsert the EASY DE-CALC knob and turn the knob clockwise to fasten it. storage 1 Switch off the steam generator and unplug it. Specific types only: push the carry lock to lock the iron onto the platform. [. . . ] There is not enough water in the water tank (the ‘water tank empty’ light flashes).
