[. . . ] Make sure the cordset does not touch the soleplate when it is hot. â· The iron stand can become hot when you are ironing. If you want to move it, touch only the two lateral edges of the stand. â· This appliance is not intended for use by young or infirm persons without supervision. [. . . ] To prevent shiny spots, articles made of synthetic material or silk should be ironed inside out. Do not use the spray function, as spraying could cause stains. After pilot light (H) has gone out and come on again you can start ironing. If you set the temperature control (J) to a lower setting after ironing at a high temperature, do not resume ironing until after the amber pilot light (H) has come on and has gone out again. If you do not wait for the light to go out again, you run the risk of scorching the fabric. If these instructions are missing but you do know the kind of fabric, consult the table. â· This table is only valid for plain fabrics and not for materials to which finishes, glosses etc. Textile to which some kind of finish has been applied (gloss, crinkle, relief etc. First sort the laundry according to ironing temperature: put wool with wool, cotton with cotton, etc. â· The iron heats up more quickly than it cools down. Therefore, start ironing articles that need to be ironed at the lowest temperature, such as those made of synthetic fibres. Steam-ironing is only possible at higher ironing temperatures: For moderate steam: set the temperature dial (J) to 2 or 3 and the steam control (G) to 1 or 2. Keep the steam activator (I) pressed-in while you are steam-ironing (fig. During ironing pilot light (H) and (C) will come on from time to time. When this happens, the soleplate or the steam tank are being heated up to the required temperature again. When you have not used the steaming facility for some time, the steam still present in the supply hose will condense into water. The next time you steam-iron, this may cause some spluttering in the appliance and a few droplets of water may escape from the soleplate. Tip: Hold the iron over an old cloth or over the floor and press the steam activator (I) until the steam production has normalised, before you start steam-ironing. For ironing without steam, set the steam control (G) to position 1 and do not press the steam activator (I). When you have finished ironing Set On/Off switch (B) to position "Off" to switch the appliance off (fig. Remove the mains plug from the wall socket. Cleaning Unplug the iron and allow it to cool down before you start cleaning it. [. . . ] ) steam is hardly visible, especially when the temperature dial is set to maximum position, and even less so when the ambient temperature is relatively high. What do to To check if the iron is really producing steam, hold a (cold) mirror in front of the soleplate vents. Fill the water tank and insert it properly into the appliance. Wait until the pilot light has gone out. [. . . ]
