By doing this, you help to preserve the environment. 2 Straighten your hair Ensure that you select a temperature setting that is suitable for your hair. Always select a low setting when you use the straightener for the first time. Hair Type Coarse, curly, hard-to-straighten Temperature Setting Mid to High (170 ºC and above) Fine, medium-textured or softly waved Low to Mid (160 ºC and below) Pale, blonde, bleached or color-treated Low (Below 160 ºC) 1 Connect the plug to a mains supply socket. 2 Slide the closing lock (f) to unlock the appliance. 3 Press and hold the On/Off button (d) until the display screen lights up. » The default temperature setting is displayed (j). 4 Press the + (b) or - (c) buttons to select a suitable temperature setting for your hair. » When the straightening plates have heated up to the selected temperature, the stable indication `READY' (k) is displayed. 5 The ion function activates when the appliance is switched on, which provides additional shine and reduces frizz. » The ion indicator (h) is displayed. » When the function is on, a special odor may be smelt and a sizzling noise may be heard, which is normal and caused by the ions that are generated. 6 Press the SONIC button (e) to switch on or off the sonic function.
