[. . . ] To purify effectively the air in a domestic room and to keep it clean, the air must be cleaned 2 - 3 times per hour by the Air Cleaner. Life time of (replacement) filters The effectiveness of the Air Cleaners is mainly dependent on the condition of the filtrete filter and the active carbon filter. After a period of time, these two filters will become saturated. How long it takes before these filters become full depends on these factors: - How many hours per day the Air Cleaner actually is used; - How much air pollution there is outside the house; - How much air pollution there is inside the house. With normal use (between 6-8 hours per day) and not excessively contaminated environment, the filters will last about three months. As indicated before, the life time of the filter in a very smoky environment will be much shorter.
