[. . . ] Empty batteries must be inserted properly for good contact and correct (+) and (-) polarity direction. Use rechargeable \ NiMH or NiCdbatteries only !Insert plug into mains to start charging of the batteries (Standard euro-plug not suitable for UK). Charge indication LED The LED indication only operates when charging R6NM & R03NM batteries. The red LED will light up when the charger,  equipped with one or more R6NM/R03NM batteries,  is connected to the mains. After 9 hours the green LED will light up indicating that the charger switched over to trickle charge mode. Your NiMH batteries are now fully charged and the trickle charge keeps your batteries ready for use without harming them. For long battery life,  only charge empty batteries Note: The LED charge indication does not operate when charging `9 V blocks'.  [. . . ] Do not expose charger to or immerse into water.  [. . . ]
