4. Playback
Playing cassettes
You can operate the video recorder using the remote control or the buttons on the front of the video recorder. If you press PLAY , STOP , FWD or REW while the set is in Stand-by, the power will be automatically turned on. Additionally, if a cassette was already inserted, the corresponding operation will be performed. Your video recorder can only record and play standard VHS cassettes. 1. Put a cassette into the cassette slot. ' ' will appear on the display. DIGITAL STUDIO PICTURE CONTROL Philips has developed a system which produces the best possible playback quality. 2. Press SMART PICTURE again to select the pic2. `NATURAL': best all-purpose-setting to watch a well-recorded tape (natural picture). `DISTINCT': accentuate the details. Valuable to watch high quality tapes or recorded sport events. It reduces the noise, making the picture more enjoyable. `SHARP': best for cartoons or animation movies. This setting will remain stored until you eject the tape.
