This is an equalizer that enables a `flat' setting. This setting minimizes the undesirable reverberation of your listening room based on the sound directly coming from the speakers. You can select a correction time period during the automatic calibration. If you're not satisfied with the automatic adjustment provided in Automatically setting up for surround sound (Auto MCACC) on page 8, you can also adjust these settings manually to get a frequency balance that suits your tastes.
