Page 3 Set-up Select a working area You will need an area about 8x10 ft. (2. 4 x 3m), which is not exposed to extreme temperatures (avoid doors, windows, etc. ). As shown in the sketch (1) you will also need: a A table, 29-30 in. b An electrical outlet (grounded, where applicable). [. . . ] i Pull film tabs j Insert data card: This will light up when the power is turned on. k Remove data card I Aim camera and take picture m The data Lighten/Darken control allows you to make the picture of the data card lighter or darker without affecting the picture of the subject. If the data card is too dark (20-p), turn the knob toward Lighten. n The card selector allows you to produce either two identical or two different ID cards on each sheet of film. o The portrait Lighten/Darken control is used to lighten or darken the picture of the subject. If the portrait is too dark (2O-q), turn the knob toward Lighten; if too light, turn it toward Darken. Load the film 1 Open the door. Before loading the film, check that the developer rollers are clean (see Clean the developer rollers). 2 Always hold the film pack by the edges, not in the center. Slide the pack in at an angle (14), then push it down into place. 3 Check that the white leader tabs are not caught between the pack and the holder (15). 4 Close and latch the door, with the black tab sticking out (16). 5 Pull the black safety cover straight, all the way out of the holder (17). If not, see below. ID-100 User Guide Operation Note: The indicators on the control panel will light up to remind you of the next step. The camera will not operate until each step is completed. Page 5 Process the film Important: The film tabs must be pulled straight, all the way out of the holder. 1 Pull the leader tab straight, all the way out of the holder (23). A processing tab (with arrows) will appear. 2 Grip the processing tab firmly, and pull it straight, at moderate speed, without hesitation, all the way out of the holder (24). 4 Place the sheet of film on the base near the timer (26). 5 At the end of the processing time, the timer will beep. Separate the print from the negative, starting at the end nearest the arrows (27). Fold the negative, moist side in, and dispose of it properly. See Caution notice. Laminate the picture Most ID pictures will be sealed inside a plastic pouch for protection. [. . . ] 3 Release the handle, then remove the scrap paper from the diecutter (30). ID-100 User Guide Clean the developer rollers Dirt on the developer rollers can cause a variety of problems such as repeated spots on pictures and jammed film. Inspect the rollers when loading film, and clean them as follows. 1 With both hands, lift the steel loops, and remove the roller assembly (35). 2 Clean both rollers with a soft, lint-free cloth, dampened with water if necessary (36).
