Your Vaporella has been designed to ensure maximum ironing comfort; its quality materials make it a reliable work-mate. The powerful jet of Vaporella steam acts on the fabrics eliminating every crease. Therefore it is not necessary to press on or iron repeatedly. [. . . ] Place the combined flex (8) into the support (fig. Pull the tank cap (1) upwards and fill the tank with about 1 litre of water, making sure that it does not overflow (fig. 3). However, as hard water by its nature contains limestone, which may cause a build-up of limescale in the tank, in hard water areas we recommend the use of our natural-base decalcifier KALSTOP, available from Polti dealers or by mail order from your Polti Service Centre. RECOMMENDED TECHNIQUE for STEAM ironing with Polti iron is to APPLY steam (button 10) on the upstroke, then release button (10) (so no steam) for the backstroke, so reclosing the fibres, preventing oversteaming and wetness. In order to have a continuous steam jet, move the continuous steam jet button (10a) forwards. Steam will keep on coming out, even if you release the button. To stop the steam flow, move the continuous steam jet button (10a) backwards (fig. 4b. By turning the steam flow control knob (6) you can vary the quantity of steam according to the type of textile to be ironed (more or less delicate). You can use this control to increase the steam flow by turning it anticlockwise. Turn the control in a clockwise direction to reduce the steam flow (fig. 10). The appliance is equipped with a rigid iron rest mat (11) (fig. 11) which can be removed and put elsewhere if required. DRY IRONING If you need to DRY iron (ONLY) (NOT steam ironing), press the iron switch (3) and adjust the iron temperature by turning the dial (7) to the temperature required for the fabric (as shown on the dial). NOTE: · The steam pressure indicator (5) may go on and off from time to time during use of Vaporella. [. . . ] NOTE: during initial operation a few drops of water mixed with steam may come out. It is advisable to direct the first jets of steam onto an old cloth until a uniform stable jet of steam is obtained. TIPS FOR BETTER ACCESSORIES USAGE Curtain freshener accessory (22) (Fig. 18) · specially designed to iron curtains vertically without removing them. HOW TO USE IT: Move the accessory downwards in order to iron the curtains and to eliminate creases or smells, the useful sponge attached to the accessory will absorb any excess drops of steam.
