For this reason your Vaporella may contain a small quantity of remaining water in the boiler. CORRECT USE OF THE PRODUCT This appliance is intended for home use as a steam generator iron as described and in accordance with the instructions provided in this manual. Please read these instructions carefully and keep them, as you may find them useful in future. Polti declines liability for any damage or accident derived from any use of Vaporella which is not in conformity with the instructions contained in this manual. The crossed-out wastebasket symbol on the appliance means that at the end of its useful lifespan, the product must be disposed of separately from ordinary household wastes. I N S TA L L AT I O N · Before using Vaporella Professional Stiro Smacchia mount the pivoting wheels as shown in figure 1. · Place the flex holder (W) in the appropriate slot and position the single iron tube (P) in the appropriate support (fig. 2). 1. 2. 3. 4. P R E PA R AT I O N F O R U S E Unscrew the safety cap (A) and fill the boiler with 3 litres of normal tap water using the filling bottle (V) (fig. 3). Ensure the water level does not exceed the MAX. indicator on the water level window (J). However, as hard water by its nature contains limestone, which may cause a build-up of limescale in the boiler, in hard water areas we recommend the use of our natural-base decalcifier KALSTOP, available from Polti dealers or by mail order from your Polti Service Centre. Make sure the patented safety cap (A) is fully and correctly screwed on, otherwise you may experience steam escaping from around the cap. Connect the power supply cable (M) into an earthed power supply of the correct voltage. IMPORTANT: always make sure that the "continuous steam jet" button (S) is not switched on. Switch on the boiler and iron by pressing the switches (E) and (F). The pressure indicator light (G) and the "iron heating" indicator light (R1) will light up (fig. 4). ENGLISH WARNING: Do NOT under any circumstances put or leave the filling bottle in the water filling aperture of the appliance when the appliance is connected to the mains electricity supply. Danger of burns! 30 VAPORELLA PROFESSIONAL STIRO SMACCHIA INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE Check the manufacturer's label on the garment, and interpret the symbol on the label as follows: Steam ironing allowed--set the dial to its MAXIMUM travel at the end of the 3 dots symbol on your Polti iron Steam ironing allowed--set the dial to its MAXIMUM travel at the end of the THREE (nb THREE, not two) dots symbol on your Polti iron DRY IRON only, with iron dial set at one dot. NEVER CALL FOR STEAM BY PRESSING STEAM REQUEST BUTTON when DRY ironing. See special instructions for DRY ironing in the instruction book. Neither steam nor dry ironing allowed. RECOMMENDED TECHNIQUE for STEAM ironing with Polti iron is to APPLY steam (button R) on the upstroke, then release button (R) (so no steam) for the backstroke, so reclosing the fibres, preventing oversteaming and wetness. [. . . ] Should the stain persist, do not dry the item before acting a second time. Should the stain persist even after the second attempt, it is advisable to contact a qualified dry cleaning centre. A summary table accurately classifying the types of stains in relation to the advisable cleaning method is included as part of these instructions (TAB. 2).
