Too heavy of a load, while on a slope, is dangerous. Tires can lose traction with the ground and cause you to lose control of your tractor. [. . . ] Engage transmission by placing freewheel control in engaged position (See "TO TRANSPORT" in this section of manual). Sitting in the tractor seat, start engine. After the engine is running, move throttle control to half (1/2) speed. Drive tractor forward for approximately five feet then backwards for five feet. Repeat this driving procedure three times. Your transmission is now purged and now ready for normal operation. 12 OPERATION MOWING TIPS · · · Mower should be properly leveled for best mowing performance. Drive so that clippings are discharged onto the area that has been cut. Have the cut area to the right of the machine. NOTE: Protect your hands with gloves and/or wrap blade with heavy cloth. · Remove blade bolt by turning counterclockwise. · Install new blade with stamped "GRASS SIDE" facing the ground. IMPORTANT: To ensure proper assembly, center hole in blade must align with star on mandrel assembly. · Install and tighten blade bolt securely (45-55 Ft. IMPORTANT: Special blade bolt is heat treated. STAR BLADE BLADE BOLT (SPECIAL) CENTER HOLE 02 54 4 · TIRES · Maintain proper air pressure in all tires (See PSI on tires). · Keep tires free of gasoline, oil, or insect control chemicals which can harm rubber. · Avoid stumps, stones, deep ruts, sharp objects and other hazards that may cause tire damage. NOTE: To seal tire punctures and prevent flat tires due to slow leaks, tire sealant may be purchased from your local parts dealer.
