On the Standard toolbar, click the Selection tool. Double-click the steps you want to alter or right-click the steps, then click Deck Step Properties on the pop-up menu that appears. The Deck Step Properties dialog box appears. Enter the new height, in inches, then click OK. Note: This is especially useful when designing multi-level decks, when you do not want the steps to reach the ground, just the next deck level. On the Standard toolbar, click the Selection tool. Double-click the steps you want to alter or right-click the steps, then click Deck Step Properties on the pop-up menu that appears. The Deck Step Properties dialog box appears. Click the checkbox next to Handrails on Left (or Right), then click OK. The handrails on the selected side will be removed. On the Standard toolbar, click the Selection tool.
