This procedure consists of the following steps: · · · Removing the New Library Chassis from the Shipping Carton Removing the Remaining Packing Materials Preparing for Multiple Library Stacks 0 Removing the New Library Chassis from the Shipping Carton To unpack the new library chassis: Note: Be careful not to damage the packaging materials while unpacking the library. [. . . ] Caution: Take standard ESD precautions when performing this procedure. 2 Insert the metal pick included with the accessory kit into the release holes and trip the magazine door release for both the right and left magazine doors (see figure 2). The magazine access doors open. Note: Keep the tool as straight as possible when inserting the wooden dowel into the magazine release hole. Pull the straps away from the chassis anchors and remove the straps from the library. Lift the left robotics restraint slightly up and remove it from the library. Slide the right robotics restraint to the right until you are clear of the robotics motor and remove the restraint from the library. Avoid touching the printed circuit board and ribbon cable connectors on the robotic hand. Caution: Figure 4 Removing the Robotics Restraints Velcro straps Robotics restraints Note: Save the robotics restraints for later shipping or relocation of the library. 8 Removing the Remaining Packing Materials Quantum PX502 Chassis Unpacking Instructions Document 81-81331-01 C01 June 2005 5 Remove the tape drive cover plates by loosening the captive screws securing the plate to the library chassis with a flat blade screwdriver (see figure 5). Figure 5 Removing the Tape Drive Cover Plates Captive screws 6 Replace the right and left magazines in the library. 7 Close the right and left magazine access doors. The library chassis is now ready to be installed. Preparing for Multiple Library Stacks Note: If the library is NOT being installed with other libraries to operate in a multiple library stack, it is not necessary to complete the following instructions. 0 If the library will be installed in a rack with other PX500 Series libraries, you must prepare each chassis prior to installation. [. . . ] Install the bottom alignment hardware with one PHILLIPS screw. Install only the bottom alignment hardware on the top library in the stack and the top alignment hardware on the bottom library in the stack.
