AUTO and NAV lights flash alternately Start turning boat (see step 2) 10 sec 2 Turn boat in slow circles Turn the boat in slow circles: · speed less than 3 knots · at least 2 mins for each 360° Keep turning the boat until: · the AUTO and NAV lights flash together · the SportPilot beeps for 5 sec + 5 sec 3 SportPilot indicates amount of deviation detected · after the 5 sec beep, the SportPilot beeps to indicate amount of deviation detected · each beep = 5° deviation (1 beep = 0°-5°; 2 beeps = 5°-10°; 3 beeps = 10°-15°) · 4 or more beeps = deviation above 15°: re-site compass then repeat linearization 4 Align the SportPilot compass to North a. Steer the boat on a magnetic North heading. Press either -1 or +1 to align SportPilot compass to North. x1 = 5° deviation 5 Save changes Press in control stalk to: · save deviation correction · save heading alignment · return to STANDBY mode Note: To quit compass calibration without saving, turn control stalk to LO then back to STANDBY.
