Hair should be dry and free of tangles before using the straightening iron. Plug the straightener into an electrical outlet. Slide the ON/OFF switch to the ON position. Divide hair into manageable sections and clip the upper layers on top of your head and out of the way. Take a small section of hair and pull hair down and away from your scalp, and hold it taut. Starting at the roots, clamp hair firmly between the plates and run the styler down the entire hair strand, from root to tip, in one smooth stroke. Do not hold it in one area for a long period of time. Repeat with all sections of your hair, working with the underneath layers first, then the top and sides. When you are finished styling, slide the ON/OFF button to turn the unit off, unplug it, and allow it to cool before storing. How to Use Folding for Storage 1. Flip the closing lock and press until it clicks to lock the iron closed. Press the two swivel hinge buttons with one hand while rotating the handle to fold the styler in half. Insert the folded styler hinge end first into the storage pouch, leaving the cord outside the pouch. Loop the cord loosely and secure to the outside of the pouch with the attached Velcro strap.
