[. . . ] If VS8F-2 effect expansion boards (sold separately) are installed, you can use up to four stereo effects without needing to connect any external devices to the VEGS-1. Here's how to use effects when VS8F-2s have been installed. For details on installing a VS8F-2, refer to "Installing Effect Expansion Boards" (p. 6). If the Display Indicates "No Effect Board" A VS8F-2 has not been installed. If this message appears even though a VS8F-2 has been installed, the VS8F-2 has not been recognized correctly. Turn off the power as described in "Turning Off the Power" (p. 18), and re-install the effect expansion board correctly. fig. 4-01_80 Using Effects 71 Using Effects Applying a Loop Type Effect During Playback It is common to apply a loop type effect such as reverb or delay during playback. The following example shows how you can apply reverb (FX1) to track 1 during playback. fig. 4-02 2 5 4 1 6 3 8 7 1 2 3 4 Press [PLAY (DISPLAY)]. Press [FADER/MUTE] so that the TR (track) indicator is lit. Select the track(s) for playback. Hold down [STOP] and press the track 1 [STATUS] button. [STATUS] will light green. Press the [SELECT] button for the track channel to which you wish to apply the effect. For this example, press the track channel 1 [SELECT] button. [SELECT] will light, and the Track Mixer display will appear. 5 Press [F1 (FX1)]. Use the TIME/VALUE dial to turn the effect on/off. Select either "Pre" or "Pst. " For this example, select "Pst" so that the effect will be applied to the sound after it has passed through the channel fader. fig. 4-03a_80 12 13 78 Using Effects 14 Hold down [SHIFT] and press [F3 (FX A)].
