Read and understand all the applicable Ground device properly. Make sure the device's means of grounding or polarization is not defeated. Keep device clean. COMMAND TYPE ­ Select and enter the type of command. Select and enter Default to use the same command type previously selected in BASIC SETUP. KEY FUNCTION ­ Select and enter the function you want the key to perform. Select and enter Learned IR to use a learned IR command not included in the command type previously selected in BASIC SETUP. KEY FUNCTION ­ Select and enter the function you want the key to perform. c. Select and enter a specific device (e. g. , Tuner/Amp) to use an IR device code from the built-in library. DEVICE CODE ­ Select and enter the amp/receiver's IR device code from the Reference section of this manual. KEY FUNCTION ­ Select and enter the function you want the key to perform. d. Select and enter Macro to configure the key with a macro. (To build macros, see Macro Editor Procedure on page 38. ) i. MACRO ID ­ Select and enter the macro ID number. e. 3. Select and enter Unassigned to clear the key configuration. Any custom settings for that key will be erased. SAVE CHANGES?­ Select and enter Yes to save changes. Procedure returns to SELECT A KEY (step 1). Learn IR Procedure (Conditional) This procedure allows you to teach the keypad IR commands from a remote control. It's typically used when there is no IR device code in the keypad's built-in library for a particular device or when you want to program a special command for key configuration or a macro. It's important to understand the Learn IR procedure doesn't automatically assign the learned commands; rather, it only stores the commands in the library. The commands must be assigned separately in other programming procedures. There are nine locations in the library to store learned IR commands: one for the amp/receiver and one for each of eight sources. 25 INSTALLER Programming Menu Instructions Learn IR Procedure (continued) These locations are called Learned Sources. Learned commands can be assigned in other procedures by selecting Learned IR as a command type and then selecting the corresponding Learned Source label. See Learn IR Procedure flow chart on page 45. To begin the Learn IR Procedure, select LEARN IR from the top level of the Programming Menu and press Play . Note: When teaching commands, you must aim the remote at the keypad's IR learning receiver diode. The keypad cannot learn commands through its normal IR receiver.
